I think it is a nice thing to offer to give back gifts the person has given you during the relationship, especially if they are expensive things. Don't do it in a mean way so it sounds like you don't want any reminders. Offer it as a kind gesture, such as, "I know this cost you a lot, and I think it's fair you have it back if you that's what you want." Chances are they won't take things back, and they'll think more highly of you in the long run.
