Okay, I know this guy, Jeff. We’ve met a few times in person and keep in contact mainly on the net. He split up with his long-term girlfriend last year but he was doing pretty well.

I didn’t really know that much about the break-up, but he seemed over it, so I invited him out for dinner and drinks. I guess inviting him out made him think that I was interested in all the greasy details of his last relationship

He’d had just enough to drink to think I wanted to hear all those greasy details… Just smile and nod politely, right? No, he really really wanted me to talk about how nasty she was, and take his side. ARGH! I don’t even know the poor girl!

Please make me feel better! Surely you guys know a lot of juicy details about ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends…

I think that guy is not over her ex girlfriend because he still keeps on talking about that girl. Well, you can ask him if it is okay with him not to talk about her ex. You should be frank about it and stop torturing yourself. ;D

I have been on dates like this too, where all the person could talk about was their ex. I don't know why they think we want to hear all the details? There are some things that are better left unsaid.
