To stay connected, the dialogue between you and your guy has to be fresh. Here'ss how to avoid a conversation rut.
1. Time your talks
Couples often fall into routine chat times. This predictably can lead to boredom and put your conversations an autopilot. So it is good to mix up your call times to keep the content of your talks varied. ;D

2. Introduce new information
To keep your conversations intriguing, bring new topics to the table. For instance, if you read something interesting, ask for his opinion. It will inject a freshness into your chats and make you really look forward to your time together. :)

3. Let him play expert
Turn to him for specific advice on a problem that you would ordinarily ask someone else about, such as how to deal with a friend's neediness. You'll probably learn something about him by hearing how he'd handle the situation, and helping you out makes him feel more invested. :)

I think it is always a good idea to ask each other a lot of questions. This shows you are interested in them. So often, people just ramble on about themselves and never get around to asking the other person what they think, how they feel, or how their day went.

Try asking her what her dream job is on a first date to get to know her a little better. A woman’s dreams and goals really say a lot about her. Since it would obviously be a little awkward to ask her outright about her life goals, frame the question in a more lighthearted way by asking about what job she would choose if she could have any one in the world. The answer will probably be something like a singer or model, and then the conversation will segue naturally into both of your actual dreams and aspirations, which you can continue discussing.
